You can’t keep Christchurch down! Although the earthquakes have meant the cancellation of the Christchurch International Jazz Festival this year, the show will go on…
Im pleased to announce that my Quartet (Roger Manins, Tyson Smith & Mostyn Cole) will be playing at the TASTE Jazz Concert in Hagley Park on November the 5th. We have the distinct pleasure of closing the show, playing at 4.30-5.30pm-hope to catch you at this wonderful FREE event!
Awesome news, I have just had my funding submission accepted by Creative NZ to tour Australia in November…woo hoo!! Just in time, Ive been figuring out how to do the tour with a sleeping bag and a box of muesli bars: but not anymore!
This tour will be part of some big shows here in NZ, including a headline spot at the Queenstown Jazz Festival & another chance to perform for the CJC in Auckland-cant wait!
Hope to see you somewhere out there on the road this spring:)
Phew…I have just finished a run of wicked shows at the TSB Arena, opening for the World of Wearable Art Show…it was intensely awesome! It was a real pleasure to be involved with a show of that magnitude, and to get to work/hang out with such amazingly talented people!
I know the ‘Art’ is supposed to be the focus, but I need to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to all the amazing back stage crew; the stage staff, the sound techs & the makeup ladies (why did you want to put all that work into us??!!) Seriously grateful to have met and worked with you all!
The Band…woah THE BAND!!! So great to get to play with you guys for 3 weeks, Dan Hailes, Nick Tipping and our star vocalist, Wallace Gollan-you are all seriously talented thanks again :)
Stay tuned for audio and video from our performances….
Sweet news everyone, I am now endorsing Pro-Mark Drumsticks (The worlds finest drumsticks!) Not only do they make killer woods but they have some ‘out there’ brushes and mallets too. Cant wait to bust them out soon on a gig near you!

“This week on Jazz Footprints we talk to Wellington jazz drummer Reuben Bradley - recent recipient of a Tui Award for The Best Jazz Album. Reuben shares his inspiring journey to New York where he was mentored by Barry Altschul, his return to New Zealand to create his album Resonator, and what jazz means to him.”
